openSUSE Linux 10.3 has improved support for the Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface (ACPI) standard, so your laptop battery will last longer.
If you plan to run Linux on your laptop, be aware that manufacturers include many
proprietary drivers for their hardware, and Linux support may be spotty at best. But don??™t
be completely discouraged. The Linux on Laptops page at http://linux-laptop.net/ has the

If you are in the market for a new Linux laptop, a few companies have sprung up to
preinstall openSUSE, or any other distribution you want, on a name-brand portable.
