If you happen to be installing on a laptop with only a wireless Internet connection, the
test will likely fail due to the wireless card not yet configured. Wired LAN and broadband
connections should work, however. Don??™t panic if your system doesn??™t pass this test,
though. You??™ll get another chance at configuring your network later in the install.

Use the Time Zone section to identify your location so that the system time will be
correct for your time zone. Learn more about date and time in ???Setting Date and Time??? in
Chapter 4, ???Further Configuration with YaST2 and SaX2.???

There are two teams vying for control of your Linux desktop, GNOME and KDE. If you??™re
brand new to Linux, this may be a difficult choice this early in the installation process.
You may want to skip over to Chapter 6, ???Launching Your Desktop,??? before making this
decision??”or maybe not. At this stage, you may just want to pick one, knowing that it??™s
easy to switch from one to the other and that virtually every application written for one
desktop environment works just as well in the other.
