have choices for installing Win4Lin. The easy way is to let YaST (or your favorite package
manager) handle it. KDE users can open the Win4Lin package in Konqueror and find a
big button labeled Install Package with YaST. GNOME/Nautilus users can right-click the
same package and choose from any of your installed package managers. These applications,
which you??™ll learn more about in Chapter 21, ???Keeping Your System Current:

You can also do the install the old fashioned way, at the command line. Open a shell and
log in as the SuperUser. Go to the directory you downloaded the package to. Type rpm -
ivh Win4LinPro-.i386.rpm. This would be for the 32-bit version; Win4Lin also

comes in a 64-bit package if you have the right processor. This is one of those times when
the shell??™s file completion feature comes in handy, so entering the first few letters of the
filename and then tabbing should work.
Regardless of the method you chose to install the Win4Lin RPM, you??™ll be asked a few questions
about how you want to configure Win4Lin.
