Regardless of how you do the initial package installation, you then run vmwareconfig.
pl, the Perl script that will help you configure VMware??™s host program.
Read the configuration options carefully, accepting the defaults is okay, too. To ensure
that your virtual machines use the same network and Internet access you have with
openSUSE, use the default Bridged Networking. Vmware-config.pl tells you when it has
completed its task and returns the prompt to you. When it??™s finished, exit out of your
SuperUser shell and return to the plain user prompt.
Making Space for Your Virtual Machine
Unlike Win4Lin, VMware Player does not create its own space for a virtual machine. You
need to make a virtual hard disk to hold the Player image. This is done with another virtualization
tool called qemu. Install this with YaST, and go to a shell to create the image.
First, make a Guest directory in your /home:
mkdir ~/Guest

Change to this directory. You should put all files related to this virtual machine in this
directory.
