"openSUSE Linux Unleashed"

Click the globe-ish looking
icon in the KDE taskbar and Konqueror will open in Web Browsing mode (see Figure
13.4). It is also the default KDE browser (though you can change that in the KDE Control
Center), so clicking links in most other programs in KDE will open Konqueror. Based on
the KHTML rendering engine (also used in the popular Safari browser for the Macintosh),
it also offers excellent cookie management to protect your privacy on the Web. Unlike
Firefox, Konqueror asks you by default if you want to accept a cookie from a site. While
you may find this behavior distracting at times, the privacy reminder is often useful. You
can adjust these settings by going to the Settings menu, selecting Configure Konqueror,
and going to the Cookies page.
TIP
If a site doesn??™t display properly in Konqueror, try changing the browser identification
to Firefox. Many sites have a script that checks this ID and displays pages accordingly,
skipping out on Web standards. Too often, those scripts only recognize the Big Two:
Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
