Flock
If Epiphany is the browser offering ???just the Web,??? this social browser is all about the
read-write Web. Sure you can just search and surf with the Gecko-based Flock as you
would with any other browser, but this one comes with a built-in blog editor.
Flock, still in beta as of this writing, does not come with openSUSE, but is simple to
install. Just go to http://www.flock.com and click the Get Flock Now link; Flock will
recognize your operating system and download a nice tarball (a Linux archive with a
.tar.gz extension). Use Ark to extract the file to your Home directory. Open the new
/home/
/flock directory and click the flock-bin executable to run the setup
wizard. This wizard allows you to import your Firefox bookmarks and settings.
That Flock is targeting social-network savvy youth is evident with the browser??™s default
bookmark toolbar (as you can see in Figure 13.
