Blogs can be one person??™s project or have multiple authors. They can be on one topic,
broad or narrowly defined, or they can be on whatever pops into an author??™s head. There
are great blogs and poor blogs in all categories. Some are read by thousands every day, but
most are read by only a few.
For just a few examples in how to do a blog right, consider these:
. The Doc Searls Weblog (http://doc.weblogs.com)??”Longtime columnist at Linux
Journal magazine and co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto, Searls puts a lot of interesting
ideas out for consideration, and some pretty nice photography too. His
blogroll will take you to interesting places as well.
. Linux-Watch (http://www.linux-watch.com)??”Linux news and analysis, mostly from
Steven J. Vaughn-Nichols of CNET News.
. Worldchanging: Tools, Models, and Ideas for Building a Bright Green Future
(http://www.worldchanging.com)??”A group blog promoting practical and visionary
ideas for sustainable living and development.
Whatever you want to do with your blog, about the only rule that matters is that a blog
home page features posts in reverse chronological order, with the most recent posts at the
top of the page.
