See the CPAN section of Chapter 30, ???Using Perl and Python??? and
the MT Installation Guide for more information on using CPAN.
5. Open mt-config.cgi-original in a text editor. Identify the URL that would point to
the MT main directory in the CGIPath line; for example, you could identify the
following: CGIPath http://home//public_html/MT.
6. Still in the text editor, configure MT to work with the database engine of your
choice. This is where your posts will be stored. See the MT Installation Guide for
sample database configurations, and Chapter 29, ???Managing Databases??? for more on
MySQL and PostgreSQL configuration.
7. When you have completed the initial configuration, save the file as mt-config.cgi.
8. Now you??™re ready to launch MT for the first time. Open
http://home/public_html/MT/index.html. You??™ll be asked for a username,
email address, and password to log in to the database. Click Finish Install.
Your MT database will initialize for awhile.
9. When the MT database is initialized, you??™ll see the Main Menu.
