If your server is directly connected to the Internet and is the advertised mail server
for your domain, you must check this checkbox. Remote MTAs will attempt to deliver
messages directly to your server. Postfix will accept the SMTP connection. It will then
accept the mail messages destined to either the local host or to any configured virtual
domains (discussed later).
If your server is not directly connected to the Internet (such as when you are using a dialup
Internet connection) or your openSuSE system is not the advertised mail server for
your domain, you can leave this checkbox unchecked.
Firewall Configuration
If you are accepting remote SMTP connections, you must configure the firewall to allow
the inbound SMTP connections. The second checkbox takes care of this for you. Checking
this box opens TCP port 25 (the standard SMTP port) for the selected interface (if you
have more than one network interface, you can choose which one should be opened
using the Firewall Details button).
Retrieving Mail
Some companies prefer to have their mail server hosted on a separate server, often
provided by an ISP and external to the local network.
