In addition to kfind, you can also use a new, more advanced graphical search tool on
openSUSE Linux: Beagle.
Using Beagle
Beagle is a search tool that can be used to find different types of information from a
variety of data sources associated with your user account. It was originally developed by
the Ximian team, and so has been integrated into the last few SUSE Linux releases. Beagle
can search your personal documents, text files (including source code), email, browser
history, instant messages, web pages on the Internet, man pages, help files, and media files.

Configuring Beagle
Beagle is installed by default when you install openSUSE. The Beagle-index package is
installed with both GNOME and KDE base patterns, and KDE throws in its Beagle front
end, called Kerry.
After you have Beagle installed, the next thing you need to do is start the daemon. It??™s
important that you understand that the Beagle daemon operates in a different manner
from other system daemons with which you may be familiar. Most other daemons run as
either your root user or another specialized user account.
