By default, YaST will write the new name to your /etc/hosts file, but you can
change that behavior by unchecking the box. If you do not write the name to your
hosts file, other DNS servers will be able to resolve your IP address to the new name
only when the machine is on the network.
6. To manually set the name servers your machine uses to translate hostnames into IP
addresses, uncheck the Update Name Servers and Search List via DHCP box. Identify
the Name Server(s) you want to use and/or the domain search listing, perhaps as is
laid out in Figure 27.7.
7. Click Finish to confirm your new settings. When you finish, you will be able to use those
settings when attempting to resolve names on the Internet, such as www.novell.com.
