"Administering Windows Server 2008 Server Core"

In addition, you can use it to create an INI file that contains all of the
LNK file configuration information. The
ReadMe.TXT
file that comes with the
Shortcut command
tells you about all of the command line parameters you need to use it.
Setting Security
Security occurs at a number of levels in Windows. This section isn??™t a comprehensive treatment
of the topic??”it only gets you started. Of course, the first task you??™ll complete is to add users to the
server and use shares to make resources available. The ???Configuring the Server for Initial Use???
section of Chapter 1 describes how you??™ll perform this task. Of course, making a resource available
as a share isn??™t always enough to make it available to the user. The user must have both share and
physical permission to use a resource.
Because you created your user account as an Administrator in Chapter 1, you already have
access, but your users won??™t be administrators. Consequently, you also need to use the ICACLS
command to provide physical access (see the ???Changing File and Directory Access with the
ICACLS Command??? section of Chapter 15 for complete details). You can determine the existing
rights for a directory or file by typing the directory or filename with its complete path.
