"Administering Windows Server 2008 Server Core"
This script uses the following syntax:
CScript SLMGR.VBS [MachineName [User Password]] [
]
The following list describes each of the command line arguments.
MachineName Specifies the name of a remote system. The default setting performs tasks on the
local system. Make sure the remote system is accessible to the local system. You only need to
provide the machine name??”this input isn??™t in Universal Naming Convention (UNC) format.
User Specifies the name of the user making the changes. Use the user account name as it
appears on the remote system.
Password Specifies the user password for the remote system.
-ipk Product_Key Installs the specified product key. The product key is the number provided
as part of the installation CD. Make sure you type this number precisely, including the
dashes between number groups, just as you would when installing the product.
-ato Activates your copy of Windows. You only need to use this command line switch once.
Type CScript SLMGR.VBS ??“ato and press Enter to activate the local machine. If you attempt to
use this command more than once, the script will display an error message telling you that the
system is already activated.
