In fact, I was able to open very large files quickly and without any problems.
Besides opening rather large files, Notepad+ supports one feature that many administrators
find saves considerable time. You can click a single button to send the content of the file that you??™re
editing to someone else. This makes it very easy to communicate with other administrators without
ever leaving the editing environment.
Notepad+ includes a number of interesting configuration options, some of which appear in the
Preference dialog box shown in Figure 7.4. The Dialogs tab lets you set the filters used for the Open
and Save dialog boxes??”an unusual feature that you probably won??™t see in many other utilities.
Having this feature means that you can set up Notepad+ to edit text files of any kind. You can choose
the filter for that file directly from the Open or Save dialog boxes as needed. This support is very
important when you need a flexible editing environment.

You can also associate Notepad+ with any file using the features on the Association tab of the
Preferences dialog box.
