Performing Network Diagnostics with the NetDiag Utility
The NetDiag helps you research a number of networking problems by using specific tests. Each test
outputs data about a particular network feature, and you can use the tests to assess the general
health of the network. Server Core doesn??™t provide support for this utility by default. However, you
can download a copy of the utility from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
familyid=1EA70814-7E6C-46E5-8C8C-3C439A732E9F. The downloaded product will work fine on
your Server Core installation, even though it is designed for Windows 2000. In some cases, you may
find that you obtain better results by running this utility at a client, rather than at the server, due
to Server Core??™s security features. This utility uses the following syntax:
netdiag [/q] [/v] [/l] [/debug] [/d: DomainName]
[/fix] [/DcAccountEnum] [/test: TestName] [/skip: TestName]
The following list describes each of the command line arguments.
