The routing information includes the network destination, netmask, gateway,
interface, and metric.
-s Displays per-protocol statistics for the current machine. By default, the statistics include the
for IP, IPv6, ICMP, ICMPv6, TCP, TCPv6, UDP, and UDPv6 protocols. You can reduce the size
of the list by using the -p command line switch to select a specific protocol. For example, if you
only want to see the TCP/IPv4 statistics, type NetStat -s -p TCP and press Enter. Figure 11.6
shows typical output for a TCP/IPv4 connection. The statistics that the utility outputs vary by
protocol.
-t Displays the current offload state for the connection. The default offload state is InHost. The
offload state is part of the network protocol offload that Microsoft has introduced as part of scalable
networking. The operating system actually offloads certain tasks to the Network Interface
Card (NIC). Of course, your NIC has to support these features. To see the offload settings for
your NIC, right-click its entry in the Network Connections window and choose Properties. Click
Configure in the network connection??™s Properties dialog box and choose the Advanced tab.
