"Administering Windows Server 2008 Server Core"

Make sure you use the information found in this chapter to perform that task. You
don??™t want your server acting in an odd manner during the next power outage or turning off the
hard drives when you need them most. It??™s also important to validate your time setup since so
many Server Core security features rely on the correct time. You may find that you experience

Kerberos errors when you don??™t have the time set correctly. Using a timeserver on your own network
or an external time source is always the best bet. The time services provided by the computer??™s
BIOS are unfortunately inaccurate and you??™ll quickly find yourself battling a host of errors if you
rely on the internal clock.
Chapter 13 begins a new part of the book. This part of the book helps you work with the applications
you??™ve set up on the server. The first chapter in this part, Chapter 13, helps you manage
applications on your server. Consider this chapter the last physical setup chapter. When you leave
this chapter, you should have a platform capable of supporting applications and Chapter 13 moves
onto the task of actually getting those applications installed and supported.
