"Administering Windows Server 2008 Server Core"

However, it??™s also
the most essential utility because there isn??™t any graphical replacement for it. Even an administrator
for the graphical version of Windows Server 2008 will need this utility. The best thing you can do
right now is use BCDEdit to create a backup of your configuration information using the /Export
command line switch. Make sure you work with the other utilities as well. For example, you can
export the output of the SystemInfo utility to a file using redirection and save it for future use, such

Connectivity is an important issue for servers because without connectivity no one can use the
server resources. Chapter 17 provides a discussion about connectivity in Server Core and shows
how you can ensure everyone can connect to your machine. Of course, you have already started

of the other chapters so far in the book), but Chapter 17 provides a complete view of everything that
Server Core offers for your configuration needs.
