You must specify
a minimum of one server. The client uses the server??™s lines and telephones for communication.
The client must appear within the same domain as the server or in a domain that has a two-way
trust relationship with the client??™s domain. Separate each of the servers in a multiple server
listing with a space.
Using Remote Desktop to Best Advantage
Don??™t assume that the MSTSC utility and Remote Desktop as a whole are simple ways to create a connection.
Yes, you can create a connection and even make it secure, but the Microsoft documentation for
the graphical portion of this utility leaves a lot to the imagination. Fortunately, a third party has stepped
in to make it easier to create useful connections with MSTSC. You can find the first of the graphical
interface articles on the PETRI.co.il site at
http://www.petri.co.il/add_a_new_rdp_listening_
port_to_terminal_server.htm
. The related articles section at the bottom of the Web page leads you
to a wealth of additional information, including download instructions for RDP Version 5.2.
In general, this is a client-to-server connection. The only problem is that Windows 2000 Server doesn??™t
know about Remote Desktop, so it might appear at first that MSTSC is useless.
