Because Active Directory is such a large and
complex database, you don??™t want to experiment with a production system??”one that you rely on
to get your work done. The best thing you can do is set up a test server that you can use to work out
details about your Active Directory setup and practice using the command line utilities described
in this chapter. Use the test server to test your batch files and scripts as well. The thing to remember
is that you won??™t lose your job if the test server goes down due to a poorly conceived Active Directory
change. Causing the production server to lose data or even freeze is another story.
Chapter 20 begins a new part of the book that focuses on working with users. It??™s important to
set up user accounts properly and ensure that the user feels at home when using the computer.
Chapter 20 begins that process by showing how to create and manage user accounts. You??™ve already
discovered some of the essentials of user management in Chapter 15, but Chapter 20 takes the process
significantly further so that you can provide full system functionality to users who need it.

anywhere.
