original filename unless you want to get into some complex editing.
The same file compressed with a utility such as WinZIP begins with the letters PK. The WinZIP
file would also include a catalog of filenames. The internals of most files contain information that
lets you know more about how the system views the file. You can use this information to detect
tampering and to see when a file has a different file extension than it really should. Some people
have used applications such as this one to look for additional information inside files. For example,
developers often leave interesting comments inside files that you can only see using a utility such
as XVI32.
