The Processes tab of this dialog box provides an overview of the processes on your system.
Server Core provides additional tabs that provide more information than previous versions of Windows.
For example, you??™ll find a complete list of services currently running on your system on the
Services tab. The TaskList command described in the ???Listing Applications and Services with
the TaskList Command??? section of Chapter 21 provides even more information, but it still might not
be enough. That??™s where Process Explorer comes into play. If you want a very detailed description
of the processes running on your system, you can obtain it using Process Explorer. You can download
Process Explorer from http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/
ProcessExplorer.mspx.
Performing a Windows Memory Diagnostic
Not every utility you need to run your system efficiently works at the command line. You might have a
memory problem with your machine, but current Windows technology usually doesn??™t tell you about
it. Consequently, you??™ll run into odd data errors and weird, unexplainable, application glitches. The
events seldom repeat because memory usage changes minute by minute on a Windows machine.
