This chapter has introduced IIS 7 from a Server Core perspective to you. Of course, you don??™t

can use for configuration. Part of the configuration requires that you use new command line utilities
that you haven??™t seen in past chapters. You??™ll also need to work with the XML-based configuration
files, so it may be a good time to break out that copy of XML Notepad 2007 that you read
about in Chapter 23.
Chapter 25
Managing IIS
Most of the time you spend with IIS 7 involves some type of configuration or other management
task. The basics described in Chapter 24 will probably garner you a test setup and let you start
on your production system, but they??™re not complete instructions for building a Web server. This
chapter adds to the information found in Chapter 24. It builds your knowledge so you can manage
IIS on Server Core. This chapter almost completely ignores the graphical interface, however,
because describing it would require another book.
