When referring to a database, each field has
an attribute that expresses what type of information
it contains, the length of the field, the field name, and
the number of decimals. When referring to a display,
the attribute expresses pixel color, intensity, and
position. In programming, an attribute can also
specify some type of object functionality, such as the
method used to implement security.
Automated System Recovery (ASR)
A Windows technology that stores enough system
information to recover from a number of system failures,
such as an application installation that doesn??™t
succeed well. ASR attempts to cover every contingency
and does very well in recovering from many
errors, but doesn??™t recover from every potential
system error.

Cabinet File (CAB)
1. A compressed-format file similar to ZIP files used to
transfer code and data from one location to another.
For example, many Web sites use the CAB file to
download applications to a user system using a
browser as the intermediary. Use the Compress utility
to create the file and the Expand utility to decompress
the file. 2. A single file created to hold a number
of compressed files.
