In Active Directory, the
top of the Active Directory database information
tree is an object of the
DomainDNS
class that contains
the Domain Controller object.
Discretionary Access Control List (DACL)
A Windows security component. The DACL controls
access to an object. You can assign both groups and
individual users to a specific object.
Disk Quota
A limit placed on the amount of hard drive space
that a user can rely on to hold data. Many administrators
use disk quotas to keep hard disk resource
usage under control. In a shared environment, disk
quotas ensure that each user receives a fair share of
the available disk space.
Distributed Link Tracking (DLT)
A service that monitors all of the links on the system.
The type of link can include file, shortcut, and Object
Linking and Embedding (OLE), among others. The
main purpose of the service is to detect and fix broken
links so they don??™t damage the system or its data. For
example, when a user changes the name of a linked
file, the system updates the links so they point to the
correct file again.
