Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
The development environment used to write application
code. An IDE provides all of the tools needed
to write an application using one or more specialized
editors. The IDE normally includes support for
development language help, access to any tools
required to support the language, a compiler, and a
debugger. Some IDEs include support for advanced
features such as automatic completion of language
statements and balloon help showing the syntax for
functions and other language elements. Many IDEs
also use color or highlighting to emphasize specific
language elements or constructs.
Internet Group Multicast Protocol (IGMP)
Controls the remote systems that receive a packet
based on the RFC1112 specification. IGMP keeps
neighboring multicast routers informed of the host
group memberships present on a particular local
network. To support IGMP, every level 2 host must
join the all-hosts group (address 224.0.0.1) on each
network interface at initialization time and must
remain a member for as long as the host is active.
