Master File Table (MFT)
A file that contains information about all of the
directories and files on the associated hard drive.
The current MFT implementation uses the first sixteen
1,024-byte records in the file to tell the operating
system about itself. Afterward, each record contains
information about a file or directory. The records tell
the operating system how to retrieve the files or
interact with the directory. For example, the records
contain file permissions, the name and size of the
file, the date and time the operating system created
it, and the date and time any operating system object
modified it.
Master File Table Zone (MFT Zone)
The physical location of the Master File Table (MFT)
on a hard drive.

Media Access Control (MAC)

network.
