GLOSSARY 635
Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP)
Defines the rights of a particular object based on all
of the security entries for that object in an Access
Control List (ACL) attached to an operating system
resource. For example, a user inherits rights from
groups and the parent directory, and has personal
rights to a file. Whether the user gains access to the
file depends on the result of comparing all of those
sources of rights.

Rivest Shamir Adleman algorithm (RSA)
An authentication technology named after its creators
that relies on a private-public key pair to create
a set of credentials. The credentials are then used as
a means of identification for logging into various
network resources. Using this methodology allows
for secure data transmission as well as user-oriented
features like one password logon to the network.
