Administering Products
If there is such a thing as a nonboring administrative feature, products management must be
it. Not only do products have pictures (and we all know that pictures are less boring than text),
but they also have additional details that can be managed, such as the categories they??™re part
of and whether or not they are on promotion.
CHAPTER 11 ?–  CATALOG ADMINISTRATION: PRODUCTS AND ATTRIBUTES 320
Because managing products is a bit more complex than managing departments or
categories, we??™ll support this feature through two administrative pages. The first is called
Products Admin, and it??™s the page that shows the list of products that belong to a category.
This page shows up when you click the Edit Products button in the list of categories, and
you can admire it in Figure 11-3.
Once this page is functional, we??™ll create the Product Details Admin page, which is accessible
through the Edit buttons you can see in Figure 11-3. But more on this later??”for now, let??™s
focus on creating the products administration page.
