Create a Sequence of Images
When you want to capture a sequence of images, such as a tennis player serving
or returning a volley, you can use your camera??™s burst or continuous mode.
When you shoot in burst mode, the camera continues recording images as long
as you hold down the shutter button or until your camera memory buffer is full.
Shooting a sequence of images is a wonderful way to record an exciting action
sequence.
1. Choose the menu item or press the button on your camera that enables continuous or
burst shooting mode.
2. Switch to continuous focus mode, if your camera is so equipped.
3. Press the shutter button halfway to focus on the subject.
4. Press the shutter button fully, and hold it down to create a sequence of images, as
shown in Figure 5-3. To capture the essence of speed, a slow shutter speed was
selected, and the camera was panned with the cyclist, which created the blurry
background.
Capture the Essence of Motion
Images of athletes and animals in motion depict grace, agility, and power. When
you see images of animals in motion with details such as sinewy muscles and
rippling fur, it??™s almost like being there.
