Your cursor becomes an eyedropper,
signifying you can sample a color from within the image.
Click the desired color to select it.
TIP
Photoshop Elements installs several Adobe Pro fonts
with the application. Fonts such as Adobe Caslon Pro are
particularly well suited for text on posters or cards.
TIP
You can align layers by selecting the Move tool and then,
in the Layers palette, selecting the background layer and
holding down the SHIFT key as you click the layers you
want to align. In the options bar, choose an option from
the Align drop-down menu.

Add a Drop Shadow to Text
1. Open the Layers palette.
2. Select the text layer to which you want to apply the drop shadow.
3. In the Artwork And Effects palette, click the Text icon, as shown here.
4. Double-click the Drop Shadow icon. A gear icon appears on the layer, signifying that a
style has been applied to the layer.
5. Double-click the gear icon to open the Style Settings dialog box. From within the dialog
box, you can change the lighting angle, size, distance, and opacity as shown in the
following illustration.
