We used a Termination pattern in Figure 2.64 .
In contrast to the pure control fl ow, an object fl ow adds important information
to an activity. On the other hand, it makes the model more complex, e.g.,
due to additional edges across the Detour pattern. The Indirect object fl ow pattern
describes how information on incoming and outgoing data can be completed
without modeling the actual object fl ow.

Input and output pins are denoted near actions for data. Since we do not represent
the Object Flow, omitting the edges between pins, we need a feature to distinguish
between input and output pins. UML uses a small arrow, which is drawn inside
the pin rectangle ( Figure 2.99 ). The model is not exact, because there is no explicit
