"Inside LightWave v9"

The image looks good, but the scene lacks depth. But take a
look at Figure 5.17, in which the same shot has a zoom factor of 1.5, or a Lens Focal
Length setting of 32mm. This creates a nice wide-angle view. Notice how wide the shot
looks and how much depth is in the image. The camera is pushed in close to the dog??”
notice how the image looks more three-dimensional. This setting is only an example, and
you should try different zoom factors on your own to see what works best for you.
Figure 5.16 A scene set up with the default zoom factor of 3.2, or a Lens Focal Length of
24mm, looks fine but lacks depth.

Figure 5.17 The same scene with a Lens Focal Length of 11.2mm gives the shot a lot more
dimensionality and makes it much more interesting.
The cameras in LightWave are just as important as your objects. Don??™t overlook the possibilities
of changing the zoom factor over time.Using LightWave??™s Graph Editor, you can
animate the zoom factor with stunning results.
As mentioned, the zoom factor in LightWave directly relates to lens focal lengths??”the
focal length itself is measured in millimeters.
