"Inside LightWave v9"

The larger the focal length value, the longer
the lens, and the tighter the focus (or the closer you??™ll be) on the subject. For example, a
telephoto lens might be 180mm, and a wide-angle lens might be 12mm. Because focal
lengths represent everyday camera settings, just like your 35mm camera, you may be more
comfortable working with lens focal lengths instead of zoom factors. You can do this by
selecting the desired option from the Zoom Factor drop-down list. Once chosen, you can
see your setting in the Camera Properties panel. However, if you do have specific camera
lenses you wish to match, you can use the Real Lens Camera, which we??™ll explore shortly.
Note
Each camera you add to Layout can have a different zoom factor. For example, in the
Camera Properties panel, you can select one camera and set the zoom factor so that
it renders like a telephoto lens. Then, you can select another camera in the Camera
Properties panel and make it render like a wide-angle lens. Each camera in LightWave
can be set differently.
Field of View (FOV)
In addition to zoom factor and lens focal length, you can set up a camera??™s field of view
(FOV) using the Horizontal FOV or Vertical FOV settings.
