The forced perspective flattens out the image, even when
viewing 3D objects. A forced perspective makes your image appear flatter and closer than
with a typical camera.
Perhaps you??™re a designer working in Autodesk AutoCAD or PTC ProENGINEER. You
could use an Orthographic Camera for engineering or architectural type renders, or shots
in which you need to see more of the model than can normally be seen in a single render
from a standard camera (Figure 5.40).When a perspective created from a wider camera
might take away from the object or scene you??™re rendering, an Orthographic Camera
might do the trick. Before this camera was implemented in LightWave v9, artists would
often pull the camera far away from the scene, and zoom in to create a similar look.

Perspective Camera
The Perspective Camera renders like the Classic Camera, but with a few differences. The
Perspective Camera renders the scene from top to bottom. In many cases, more complex
scenes, such as Figure 5.41, render faster this way. However, the Perspective Camera will
not render points and lines, which are used to generate smoke, fog and other particle
effects, in which a system of tiny individual objects behaves like a single entity.
