Go to a new blank layer and make the existing model a background layer.
Assuming your object lives in Layer 1, you can add a new layer by just pressing 2
on the keyboard (at the top of the keyboard, not the number pad).
2. Place the text object in a background layer by clicking beneath the slash in its
layer button (Figure 7.23).
3. In the Back view, you??™ll draw a design element. Select
Spline Draw from the Create tab. Click at the bottomleft
corner of the A, then click three or four more times
in an arc up toward the top right of the logo. Click again
a bit downward and back to the left to ???turn??? the curve,
then make three or four more clicks to arc back to your
starting point (Figure 7.24). You??™ll make about 10
points to create the curve.
4. Open the numeric panel from the bottom of the interface and check Closed
Curve (see the panel in Figure 7.24).
Figure 7.24 Using the Spline Draw tool with a closed curve, you can make a cool design element
for the logo.
5. This spline you??™ve created is a curve. It??™s very useful for creating smooth lines and
shapes. Once the shape is to your liking in a nice arc, turn off the Spline Draw
tool.
