"Inside LightWave v9"

The videos for this chapter
will extend your learning even further. And remember that as you model and texture,
you also have to tweak. Tweak, tweak, tweak! There??™s always more you can do with a scene,
so take some time and do it. Later in Chapter 11,???Node-Based Texturing,??? you??™ll learn how
to harness LightWave v9??™s new texturing engine and apply what you learn to your animated
text scene. This too will open new doors of tweakness!
Any little change you make to your models and scenes are what give your animations that
extra something. Take your modeling and layout skills a step further in the next chapter.
Learn how to model, texture, and render a cool, still-life object.

Modeling
Still-Life
Objects
In its early years, few people would have described digital 3D as art (least of all most of
its creators). Modelers and animators did some design work, of course, but they were
mainly technicians. The time and money required to create 3D models, and the highly
specialized (and limited) tools available to do the job, limited 3D??™s uses to diagramming,
engineering, and occasional Hollywood special effects.
