Now, on to the project:
1. Open LightWave v9 Modeler. This project begins by modeling the fruit that will
be placed in your soon-to-be-modeled fruit bowl. You??™ll start with a banana. Click
the Create tab and select the Box tool.

2. Press n to open the Numeric panel, and create a box with the following dimensions
(Figure 8.1):
Width 2.1m
Height 1.75m
Depth 6.95m
Center X 0m
Y 0m
Z 0m
Axis Y
Radius 0m
Radius Segments 1
Segments X 3
Y 3
Z 9

3. Once you??™ve entered the settings, close the Numeric panel, or move it aside, then
press the spacebar to quickly turn off the Box tool. Remember, you can turn off
tools by pressing the spacebar. Conversely, choosing another tool automatically
turns off the current tool.
4. Save your work.
5. Press the spacebar again, until the Edges selection mode button is highlighted at
the bottom of the interface.
6. In the Back view, at the bottom left, using your right mouse button (the Cmd key
and mouse on the Mac) lasso, select the top-right corner of the box.
