Figure 9.6 Create a disc that matches the curvature of the rounded corner of the iPod
reference image.
Note
15. If you find that the backdrop image is too bright and makes it hard to see your
disc object, press d to open Display Options. Select BottL viewport in its
Backdrop tab, and then reduce the Brightness and Contrast values to help see
your geometry better. Click OK to close the panel when finished. You can do the
same for the Left view.
16. In the Back view, zoom out to see more of the background image. Then, with
your disc positioned over the left corner of the iPod reference image, press k to
???kill??? the polygons. Removing the polygons leaves behind just points, as shown
in Figure 9.7.
Figure 9.7 Pressing k removes polygons. It ???kills??? them, leaving just the points (vertices).
To position the disc against the reference image as you build it, keep the Ctrl key
pressed and click and drag directly in the center of the disc object. Then, still holding
the Ctrl key, you can size the disc by dragging any of its corner control points. If you
have trouble getting the position precise, turn off the Snap feature in Modeler: Press d
to open the Display Options panel and then set Grid Snap to none in its Units tab
and click OK to close the panel.
