"Inside LightWave v9"

9.
Figure 9.9 Select the points not associated with an outside edge of the iPod reference image,
then delete.
20. With the points selected as shown in Figure 9.6, delete them. Yes, you could have
done this before you did your initial mirror operation, but by keeping the full ring
of discs while you mirrored, you are able to see the mirrored copy a bit better,
should there have been a need for alignment.
You??™ve just used a primitive object, the disc, to lay down points. Rather than trying
to arrange individual points evenly, it??™s often easier to take them from a primitive
object. This technique originated with Ron Thorton, a LightWave pioneer and a
friend of the Inside LightWave series.
21. Save your work as this point, just in case.
22. Now, zoom out your view just a bit more to see the entire backdrop image. Then,
select the Mirror tool again. You can get the tool from the Multiply tab, or press
Shift+v.
23. Press n to open the Numeric panel (if it isn??™t open already) and change the Axis
setting to Y. The two sets of points will be mirrored to the bottom of the iPod
image. Again, because the image was perfectly centered at the origin, mirroring
the points is a snap! Figure 9.
