Without changing the selection, switch to Polygons selection mode at the bottom
of the interface.
16. In the Perspective view, drag your mouse over the newly created polygons to
select them. There should be about 26 polygons (Figure 9.25).
Figure 9.25 Select the newly created polygons from within the Perspective view.
17. Press f to flip the polygons.
18. Once they??™re flipped, press / (slash) to deselect the polygons, and then, switch
back to Edges in the Selection Mode drop-down.
Note that your edge loop is still selected: LightWave lets you keep separate selections
at the same time??”one in each of the Points, Edges, and Polygons selection
modes. If you leave geometry selected in one selection mode (Edges, in this case)
when you switch to another (such as Polygons), the first selection is ???remembered???
when you revert back to its mode.
Note
19. The edge loop you created and scaled down will become the LCD screen of the
iPod. Ah-ha! Tricky! You first want to continue sizing down the edge, to something
like Figure 9.26. The reason for this is to tighten the corners of the selection.
Once the corners are sharpened this way, we can scale back up to the actual
size of the LCD display.
