LightWave??™s ability to store multiple selections comes in handy for working on different
bits of geometry at the same time, but unless you need to ???remember??? selections
between modes, it??™s a good idea to get in the habit of deselecting geometry before
switching selection modes. Here??™s why: If you make a selection in one mode and then
switch into a mode that has no prior selection to ???remember,??? your initial selection will
be retained in the new selection mode.The vertices of a selection made in Polygons
mode are selected as points when you switch to Points selection mode, for example??”
but only if there were no points previously selected in that mode.

20. Press t to activate the Move tool, and
then reposition the selection, using the
Back view. Use the Backdrop image as a
guide, and line up the top-left corner of
the selection with the top-left corner of
the LCD screen in the backdrop image
(Figure 9.27).
21. Press Shift+a to fit the selected edge to
view. Switch to Points selection mode,
and then right-click and drag to lasso the
points that make up the right side of the
edge loop, as shown in Figure 9.
