"Inside LightWave v9"

Figure 9.41 Using the same techniques described in previous steps, bevel the edges on the
outside edge of the model.
10. When you??™re done, save your model.
Working with edges in LightWave v9 is the best way to create added details without
extra geometry that can weigh down your model. It also offers you more control
than simply beveling polygons. There??™s still a bit more to do until this model
is ready for lighting and rendering. You need to create the glass cover, and then
build in the charger and earpiece ports.
11. In the Perspective view, click the center of the LCD-panel polygon to select it, as
in Figure 9.42. Because the Perspective view is generally set to a Shaded view, you
can click directly on the polygon you want to select. When working with wireframe
views, you can??™t select as easily.
Figure 9.42 Select the LCD polygon from within the Perspective view.
12. Press q to call up the Change Surface dialog box. Name the selected polygon LCD
Panel or something similar, and apply a bit of color just to help you remember it
has been assigned a unique surface.
13. Switch to Points selection mode.
