"Inside LightWave v9"

Shift-click each of the points around the outer edge of the LCD-panel object,
working your way around in order until all the points are selected (Figure 9.43).
Figure 9.43 Select the outer-edge points of the LCD panel, in order.
15. Once the points are selected, press p to make a polygon.
16. Switch to Polygons selection mode at the bottom of the interface. Your new polygon
should be selected. If it is facing inward, press f to flip it. (You can tell which
way the surface normal for the polygon is facing because you??™ll see a dotted line
extending out of it when it is selected.)
Selecting the points and creating a polygon the way you just did seamlessly integrates
the new polygon with the existing geometry, but it designates the new
geometry as a separate editable surface. This will make to make the new polygon
transparent, so it will reveal the LCD panel beneath it.
17. With the newly created polygon still selected, press q to open the Change Surface
dialog box. Name the new polygon Glass or something similar. Figure 9.44 (on
the following page) shows the model.
Figure 9.44 Create a surface for the newly created polygon called Glass.
