Press the spacebar to turn off the Ball tool and confirm your settings. Close the
Numeric panel. Figure 10.3 shows the result.

You might be thinking, why such a low-quality ball? The answer is that you want
to be able to manipulate the geometry to shape the character. Too much geometry
can lead to control and flow problems. Also, you??™ll be converting this object to
subpatches very soon.

6. Press Ctrl+c to copy the ball.
7. Press t to activate the Move tool, and then move the ball up along the Y-axis
about 4.5m.
8. Once the ball is moved, press Ctrl+v to paste the model you??™ve copied (Figure 10.4).

9. Make sure you??™re in Polygons selection mode and select the top ball in either of
two ways. Click once on the model to select any polygon, and then press ] (the
right-bracket key, two keys to the right of the p key on your keyboard) to select all
contiguous polygons, or right-click and drag to lasso the object.
