This next exercise will help you shape the penguin and
build better flow from the body to the head.
1. Save your work as a new increment by pressing Shift+s.
2. Jump back to a Quad view by clicking the small triangle in the top of the
Perspective viewport, or by pressing 0 on your numeric keypad.
3. Jump to Points selection mode, and also make sure that your Action Center is set
to Selection from the Modes drop-down menu at the bottom of the interface.
4. Most importantly, turn off the Symmetry tool. You??™re going to be working on the
entire model??™s points, and using Symmetry will have a negative effect on your
task. It will do this because your actions will be normal on the positive X-axis,
but mirrored (or opposite) on the negative X-axis.
5. Press the Tab key to turn off Subpatch mode for now, if it??™s on. It will be a little
easier for you to see your point selections.
6. Select the two rows of points that make up the shoulder area and neck. Select with
the right mouse button in the Back view. Figure 10.22 shows the selection.
Figure 10.22 Select the two rows of points in the Back view and scale them up 20%.
