12. Click back into the second layer where the eyeballs are. Select just one of them,
and then press Ctrl+x to cut it. Click the thumbnail for a new blank layer, and
then press Ctrl+v to paste.
Placing each eye in its own layer will let you animate them individually.
13. Save your work.
14. The eyes need a little more work before you surface them. Eyelids can help with
their range of expression. Start with the left side of the penguin in Layer 1.
Choose three polygons that make up the top half of the eye socket, as shown
in Figure 10.49 on the next page.
Figure 10.49 Select three polygons that make up the top part of the left eye socket.
15. Using the Multishift tool (found on the Multiply tab), click and drag to pull the
selected polygons up and away from the penguin??™s head, similar to Figure 10.50.
Figure 10.50 Use Multishift to bevel in the multiple polygons to create the eyelid.
16. Use the Drag tool (Ctrl+t) to shape the eyelid and blend it smoothly with the
head. Hold the Shift key and click the thumbnail for the layer containing the left
eye to see how the eyelid looks with the eye. Feel free to drag points to shape the
eyelid as you see fit.
