"Inside LightWave v9"

11 To connect your Turbulence2D node??™s color settings to the base node so that
they will be applied during the render, drag the red Color-listing dot from the
Turbulence 2D node to onto the base node??™s Color dot.
15. You can now see that the two color settings and UV size you set in the properties
for the Turbulence2D node are visible in both the base node and main surface
editor (Figure 11.12).
Figure 11.12 Once the node is part of the network and hooked into the base node, its settings
are reflected in the surface.
Guess what? You just used nodes. It??™s that easy! But there??™s a lot more to it, as you
probably have guessed. For example, what do all of those other controls do? Where
do you connect them? Read on to learn a bit more and enhance the surface of the
simple geometric torus with nodes.
16. Grab the blue dot next to Bump in the Turbulence2D node and drag it to the Bump
listing in the base node.Watch your surface sample change. You now have bumps
on your surface as well as color (Figure 11.13).
Figure 11.13 Drag the Bump on the Turbulence2D node to the Bump on the base surface node.
17. We??™ll get into what the colored dots mean and how the other values play a role in
a little bit.
