Connect the Bump output from the Marble node to the Bump input on the destination
node, as shown in Figure 11.23.
Figure 11.23 Connect the bump from the marble to the destination node.
8. OK, nothing too exciting so far, but wait. Connect the Alpha output of the Marble
node to the Specular input of the destination node, as in Figure 11.24. Pay attention
to the change in the surface sample sphere.
Figure 11.24 Connect the Alpha output to the Specular input.
The Alpha output and the Specular input are identified by green dots, indicating they control
scalar values. By connecting them, you give the surface a nice shine. But what happens
when you want some gloss too? Can an output on one node connect to more than one
input of another node? It sure can!
9. Click and drag from the green dot for the marble Alpha output to the Glossiness
destination node input. Figure 11.25 shows the setup.
Figure 11.25 You can use an output of a node more than once.
10. There are other ways to bring two outputs together, which you??™ll see shortly.
For now, go to the Add Node menu and add a Crumple node from the 3D
Textures list.
