Figure 11.47 Hook the Alpha output from the Gradient to the Falloff input of the Kappa
subsurface scattering node.
Figure 11.46 Set the top key??™s
Alpha to 0%.
19. Back in the Node Editor, click the green Gradient node Alpha-output arrowhead,
next to the Kappa node??™s Falloff input, and drag it up to the Kappa node??™s
Amount input, as in Figure 11.48.
Figure 11.48 Move the Alpha output of the Gradient node from the Kappa ode??™s Falloff input
to its Amount input.
20. Press F9 to render a frame, and
you can see that you??™ve not made
the subsurface node??™s effect fade
out toward the bottom of the capsule.
It should be noted that when
this capsule was created in
LightWave Modeler, it was created
vertically on the Y-axis. Therefore,
LightWave Layout sees the Y-axis
toward the right side, because the
capsule is lying down on top of the
other two capsules. Figure 11.49
shows the render.
21. Now, close all of the panels and get into Layout. Or press the Tab key to quickly
hide them.
22. On the Items tab, under the Add category, select Spotlight from the Lights drop
down menu.
